Dirk "Oupa" Potgieter,
originally from South Africa,
is internationally known
for his artistic knife customizing.
His services include rehandling of knives and re-shaping of knife blades.
He also makes some unique & beautiful knives for sale.
Using various and unusual handle materials,
standard handle materials
or unique materials he has acquired himself
while wandering the surrounding wooded
areas,
including native woods and bones,
Dirk creates original one-of-a-kind knives.
He is a skilled artist and incorporates
unique and imaginative ideas
into his work.
He will work with you on a design, or you can just turn him loose.
He is a Wild Man.

Dirk is a native of South Africa,
and was friends with a Bushmen tribe as a lad.
The tribal spirituality he learned there shows up in his work.
